Re: Nayan Sadhu’s Ashram in Durgapur, Netrokona
Hope you are all well. A group of Islamic nationalist/extremist thugs recently began to terrorize (demanded money under threat of kidnapping girls) the members of the governing body of Nayan Sadhu’s ashram in Chandigarh under Durgapur Upajela in the district of Netrokona, which provides shelter to orphans and persecuted children.
Upon being alarmed by Mr. Nayan Sadhu, while several of us called the Office-in-Charge of the relevant Police Station, Mr. Ali Hussain Fakir expressing our concern. One of our advisers, Captain Sachin Karmakar, called a high level police official in Bangladesh and another called the U. S. Department of State.
Police wee immediately deployed there, but that doesn’t mean that the problem is over. Therefore we urge you to keep the pressure on by calling contacts in the police and/or administration in Bangladesh as well as your government (in Europe, U. S. A. Canada, Australia, etc.).
A phone call expressing your concern for possible future persecution plus thanks to the O. C. Mr. Ali Hussain Fakir (880-0951-61307) would help immensely for this will send out the signal that people in North America, U. K, Australia, Italy, Swtizerland, Germany, etc. are concerned and it is perhaps wise to protect these people. Exerting pressure through both our governments and that of Bangladesh has always proven to be most effective, feels Distinguished Professor and our Adviser Dr. Sabyasachi Ghosh Dastidar, who has funded this ashram for many years by raising funds from here.
Hope you are all well.
