Ransack and looting takes place in “Kali” temple of Anwara Upazila of Chittagong district

CHITTAGONG, October 30:- According to an allegation, a group of terrorists in village Pathanikotha of Anwara Upazila of Chittagong district on Saturday dead of night entered the Kali temple of adjacent local Basantabari and ransacked murti(idol), looted donation box and set fire to the temple. It was learnt that the perpetrators set fire to the temple pouring patrol after they looted the donation box of the temple.

Advocate Chandan Biswas, general secretary of Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad alleged that the incident took place with direct instigation of freedom fighters named Md. Idris Ali and Abul Kalam. The temple authority registered a case with Anwara police station in this connection accusing two persons. It is mentionable that the very same circle carried an attack on that temple in year 2005.
The leaders of Chittagong North-south Mohanagar (metropolitan) branch of Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad condemned and protested the incident and they in a statement said that they urged the political parties and the administration to take action against the perpetrators so that these perpetrators can not create communal terrorism disrupting the movement of democracy.
