The Pakistani army is now concentrating on the Hindu population. At first the refugees crossing into India were in the same proportion of Hindu and Muslim as in the whole East Pakistani population. Now, 90% are Hindus. (p. 165)

The Hindu population has suffered strong persecution,and many have fled the country. The total number of refugees in India
is now over four million (p.173)
