Dhaka, Nov 4 (bdnews24.com) – The eight o'clock news on the BTV Saturday failed to shrug off its bias towards the BNP and its allies.
It led with an item on the National Cooperatives Day -- a 2-minute package in 15-minute newscast.
The second top story was BNP's Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan and his delegation meeting President Iajuddin Ahmed. It took up to 2 minutes and 15 seconds for the state-run broadcaster to tell the story.
The 14-party alliance came third with a 40-second piece.
A four-party alliance story followed. The 45-second story was on the meeting at the Hawa Bhaban attended by Khaleda Zia and other top alliance leaders.
Information adviser Mahbubul Alam was ignored in the prime time Bengali bulletin who clarified that two advisers who had visited Sheikh Hasina in line with a cabinet decision.
International events and sports news got 5 minutes.
There were items too on Jamaat-e-Islami, Communist Party of Bangladesh, Election Commission, Chhatra Sangram Parishad and Sarbadalio Chhatra Oikya.
