The members of the helpless minority families in a press conference on Sunday described the barbarism of Sajjat, an activist of newly formed Muslim fundamentalist party and also stressed on the role of the Sub-inspector and the minority families demanding justice and security expected from the government and the local administration proper security for them. General Secretary Alinur Khan Babul, President Abul Khair Sardar, advisors Saifullah Laskor and Obaidus Sultan Bablu on behalf of District Landless Association made the allegation in the press conference held in Satkhira press club on Sunday. Sajjat, an activist of newly formed Muslim Fundamentalist party also lodges cases against some minorities of the same village named Sunil Das, Anil Das, Bimal Das, Gopal Das and Jiten Das over the matter of land. Centering this dispute, Sajjat lodged a case with Satkhira police station on October 11 last against the seven families alleging that the members of those 7 families poisoned the fish of a pond. The Sub-inspector Sonia on October 15 went for an investigation of this case and then he threatened the members of those families to set fire their homes with petrol. Bijoy Das’s wife Anima Das and Biswanth’s wife Parul alleged in the press conference that the Sub-inspector told them to leave the country and to go to India; otherwise he would lodge narcotics and dacoity case against them and put them behind the bar. It was alleged that already Sonia sent 7 persons into the prison in false case. The minority families in the press conference expected the interference of the higher authorities of police in case of removing the Sub-inspector of police Sonia from the Satkhira police station and also to ensure the security of 75 minority Das families.
